These are the Flying to the UK with Busted Tank plunge bras and breast forms We flew to the United Kingdom on 30 May and are still here on 22 June. Just wanted you too know how my breast forms and plunge bras worked on the flight and over here. I decided to bring 4 bras with 4 teardrop breast forms inside them. They have been amazing and 13 weeks on from my left mastectomy in March, I am still a bit sore and swollen in places but wanted to tell you of my experience. It was my second mastectomy. They were extremely comfortable on the flight and car journeys to our different holiday rentals. I had felt a little nervous of being in crowds in airports and on the plane. They protected my still recovering area of discomfort and made me feel safer somehow. I put the whole bra with breast form inside on a delicates wash 40 deg and hang them to dry on a coat hanger by the straps. I usually put them in a delicates mesh bag. They can dry overnight in a warm space or over a couple of days. They perfect for me and knowing that they will be bringing out new colors in the modal version is very exciting. I underwent 2 lumpectomies in the following weeks - the second still with positive margins. I was told I needed a mastectomy of my right breast. I was stunned. After much deliberation of how to move forward, I opted for a bilateral mastectomy in June 2017. I chose not to have any reconstruction and was at peace with my decision although I longed to appear like my old self again. It was a struggle for me to find anything comfortable to wear which had a faux breast appearance. Nothing really fit my ideal. I also felt I had earned the right to never put on a typical bra again. I sewed many different shirt and padding designs at home until I finally realized that a simple design was what I needed. Sizing Guide BRA SIZING Please choose your current or most recent bra band size. For example, Bra size 36B equals a 36 bra band size which is a Medium (36-38) in our bra sizing. Cup may seem smaller/larger to you depending on your frame and size. Connected,1 Piece Bilateral Mastectomy Breast Forms Single Breast Forms and Bra Cup Inserts Some forms can be used for a single and double mastectomy and over natural or reconstructed breasts. Please email us at info@bustedtank.com for sizing assistance as the forms below will appear as different cup sizes for different bra band sizes. Ex. 34C is equivalent to a 38A. Some forms can also be placed in front of the bilateral forms to increase cup size. Connected Single Mastectomy Breast Forms (bilateral forms for symmetry) For a Single Mastectomy, we strongly recommend emailing us at info@bustedtank.com with your current bra size to get personal sizing assistance before ordering. You may need to add Bra Cup Inserts to increase the cup size or even out your look. Our bras, forms and tops will not support a large remaining breast but our forms may help in your own supportive bras. Please email us with sizing questions. SHOP Breast Forms and Bra Cups How to measure to determine your Bra Band size, if needed. If you do not know your current or most recent bra band size , use a measuring tape to measure around your torso directly under your bust line, where a bra band would sit. The tape should be snug and level. Once measured, round that number to the nearest whole number. If the number is even, add four inches. If the number is odd, add five inches. Your band size is the sum of those 2 numbers. For example If you measured 30 (even) inches + 4=34 bra band size. If you measure 33 (odd) inches + 5=38 bra band size. All garments may also be worn FLAT, without breast forms. Our pocketed mastectomy bras and tops can be worn with or without our eco-friendly lightweight breast forms and bra cups. All of our products are machine wash/dry. How it Works/ Care Instructions Our bras, tops and forms are all sold separately so you can choose your own sizes. Choose from over 30 sizes of our eco-friendly lightweight foam Breast Forms and Bra Cups. ⭐Please note, our bras and tops will not support your own heavy prostheses.⭐ ✨ The bilateral forms can shift/buckle a bit throughout the day. You can adjust the bilateral forms by pulling the tops of the bilateral forms up and towards the center, while pressing the center connector in place, to get the form into a good position. ✨ We also offer Hook and Loop sets to keep forms in place, if needed. All of our bras and tops have an open-center bra pocket to hold our breast forms and bra cups. If needed, some designs have a center l oop tab in the pocket to help hold our bilateral forms in place. Most v-neck bras and tops do not have this. Our garments are intended to be worn Flat or with our Lightweight Breast Forms. Our garments will not support your own, heavier prostheses. NO Elastic Bra Bands in our garments. All of our bras and tops with step-into ease can be easily pulled down and up to the waist for radiation and other treatments. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS 1. All of our bras, tops and forms can be machine washed and dried on regular or gentle cycle, as needed. 2. We recommend machine washing/drying the garments inside out. 3. You may leave the forms in or take them out of the garments during wash/dry cycle. 4. We recommend machine drying the garments to regain their shape as needed or hang dry, if you like.
