is to help restore the self-confidence in people who have had breast surgery and life changes in a

comfortable, affordable and convenient fashion. 

 

How we began and grew.

After my bilateral mastectomy, I just wanted to feel like myself again and be comfortable.

I really needed some wardrobe essentials. 

This is how The Busted Tank® was born. ​

The Bust (breasts) ed Tank® (close-fitting tops).

I was diagnosed with DCIS in April 2017 after my routine mammogram and subsequent biopsy.

I was 45 years old.

After much deliberation of how to move forward, I opted for a bilateral mastectomy in June 2017.

I chose not to have any reconstruction and was at peace with my decision

although I longed to appear like my old self again.

It was a struggle for me to find anything comfortable to wear which had a faux breast appearance.

Nothing really fit my ideal. 

 I also felt I had earned the right to never put on a typical bra again.

I sewed many different shirt and padding designs at home until I finally realized that

a simple design was what I needed. 

I envisioned making a comfortable, affordable and convenient shirt

for every woman going through this dilemma,

and with the loving support of my family, I am thrilled to bring my idea to fruition.💫

💫We have since expanded to become a wonderfully inclusive and deeply impactful product line, providing pocketed clothing for such a diverse range of medical and personal journeys—from oncology recovery to gender affirmation, we are trying to fill a critical gap in the fashion and healthcare industries. 

 We are a woman-owned small business.
